Dietetics Service

Good nutrition is critically important to the health and wellbeing of women and their babies. Maiden Health offers nutritional advice and counselling by an Accredited Dietitian and Nutritionist.

Pre-conception and pregnancy is a uniquely important time for nutrition, as your health during pregnancy affects not only you, but your baby (and ultimately their babies) as well. Our dietitian is here to offer her wealth of experience in guiding nutrition for fertility, pregnancy and post-pregnancy, as well as treating a range of general conditions.

Our Women-Centred Approach

As a practice full of working mums, we really understand the pressures women often feel around their health. We know that a woman’s physical and mental wellbeing is often the first thing to fall by the wayside when life gets busy or when there are children or ailing parents to look after.

Bringing a highly regarded dietician and nutritionist onto our team at Maiden Health makes perfect sense to honour our model of end-to-end care. Our team collaborate on patient cases, meaning our dietician’s specialist knowledge of nutrition can dovetail with that of our other specialities —whether that’s fertility, obstetrics, gynaecology or endocrinology.

We love having all these services under one roof so that you can benefit from this wealth of knowledge and expertise.

Katrina Ridout

Dietician & Nutritionist

I have experience in treating a range of general clinical conditions and have an extensive understanding of diet-disease relationships. I have a particular interest in pregnancy-related nutrition and health (including the pre-conception, prenatal and postnatal periods) and have recently received APD certification in advanced paediatric nutrition.

“I am passionate about the health of women and their babies, and offer evidence-based nutrition advice in a way that is supportive, motivating, and positive. I love helping women achieve optimal health and wellbeing with tailored nutritional education and counselling, and being a cheerleader for their progress through a range of small and sustainable lifestyle adjustments.”
