Our scans are performed using the GE Expert 22 Ultrasound Machine — only one of a few such machines in Queensland.
For our obstetrics patients, Maiden Health is the only practice in Brisbane where a patient can have all the major scans throughout their pregnancy performed at the same practice. Our mums-and-dads-to-be will be able to see their baby in the womb at very regular intervals, and will delight in the clarity of the ultrasound images that we send straight to your phone. We can even use the technology to create a 3D sculpture of your baby in utero!
Our Ultrasound Services:
Many of our patients choose our practice for ultrasounds because of our all-female team and safe, welcoming atmosphere. We know that some women get a little nervous during ultrasounds, and we have created a comforting and supportive environment to put you at ease.
Whether you are visiting us for pregnancy, fertility, or gynaecology, you can relax in the knowledge that you are being looked after by a team of caring women utilising the best imaging technology available.
Ultrasounds are carried out by our compassionate and expert in-house sonography team, whose warm manner makes them big favourites with our patients!
In some cases as part of routine scans, ultrasounds will be carried out by our all-female team of obstetricians, gynaecologists, and fertility specialists.
We have invested in the best ultrasound technology because precision in ultrasound is of the utmost importance, and the clarity of the images allows us to focus on early detection and intervention if required.

Maiden Health sonographers will use our advanced ultrasound technology to assess whether there are any physical barriers to fertility that need to be considered, such as signs of blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, or polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Pelvic ultrasounds are used by our practice for a range of fertility, pregnancy, or gynaecological investigations.
Our highly trained female sonographers will put you at ease during your vaginal ultrasound. These ultrasounds are used to investigate a range of conditions, including unexplained infertility, PCOS and endometriosis.
We are delighted that we can offer this major pregnancy ultrasound in-house, using world-leading technology. This is a screening ultrasound at 12-13 weeks to assess any chromosomal disorders, but will also generate 3D/4D images of your baby that will be sent to your phone.
At 20 weeks, we will undertake a morphology ultrasound of your baby using our state of the art equipment. The scan is designed to assess your baby’s structural development, and images will be sent to your phone for you to keep.
As a patient of Maiden Health, you will have a regular schedule of growth and wellbeing scans to check in on your baby.
Our sonographer will carry out an ultrasound to determine the placement of your intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD or IUCD).
For patients undergoing fertility treatments, a follicle tracking scan will be carried out to assess the number and growth of eggs to be harvested.
This is your first pregnancy ultrasound, and it may also be the first time you get to see your baby’s heart beating! This scan will be carried out at your first obstetric appointment at 6-10 weeks, or, if you are a fertility patient with us, as your final (and joyful) fertility appointment.
